From B2C structure to a scalable B2B platform

01. Situation
After several years of focusing on B2C, BetterWealth faced a clear strategic shift. The ambition was to evolve the business toward a more pure-play B2B model, with higher demands for structure, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
The existing systems and ways of working were largely designed for a consumer-driven business. As the target audience, business logic, and transaction volumes changed, the requirements for control, processes, and technical cohesion increased. To meet new regulatory demands and handle larger transaction volumes, a more robust and well-defined structure was required.
At the same time, the company was in a growth phase where speed and adaptability were critical. Its digital capabilities needed to be strengthened to avoid limiting business development. Enabling the transformation required a clearer technical direction and a more formalized operating model.

02. Change
Together with ndigital, BetterWealth initiated a structured transformation to support the company’s shift toward a B2B model. The focus has been on establishing a technical and operational foundation capable of meeting higher demands for scalability, regulatory compliance, and business enablement.
The work has included the development of a cohesive system architecture and the implementation of core systems aligned with the new business logic. In parallel, business and development processes have been formalized to create clarity around ownership, prioritization, and execution. The objective has been to reduce reliance on ad hoc solutions and build a structure designed to endure over time.
The platform has been deployed with a clear emphasis on stability, control, and continuity. Operations and maintenance have been organized to provide predictability in day-to-day activities, while a long-term IT strategy and roadmap have been established to guide investments and future development.
As an integrated part of the transformation, the organization has adapted to meet regulatory requirements, including DORA, strengthening the framework for risk management and operational resilience.
03. Impact
For BetterWealth, the transformation has resulted in an organization now built on a clear and cohesive technical structure. With a well-designed architecture and established processes in place, the company is able to handle thousands of securities transactions per month with a lean back-office organization.
This has enabled efficient operations and improved control over day-to-day activities. At the same time, the working methods and technical foundation make it possible to develop and launch new features without increasing complexity to the same extent.
The long-term IT strategy and roadmap provide direction for prioritization and investment decisions. Alignment with DORA has further strengthened the framework for risk management and operational continuity.
Together, BetterWealth and ndigital have established a technical and organizational foundation that supports the company’s continued transformation and enables growth without proportionally increasing costs or resources.
